We lost nearly an entire day or so JUST THE OTHER DAY to fix the servers. Was that bullshit?
I wish the forum lag would let up. There is no point of earning the buff if we can't use it. Just sayin' I love ya'll but God Lord this lag is killing me.
I've been playing this game too long to be annoyed at any lag anymore.
The plus side is, by the time your dance loads, you can immediately hit the button again, and by the time it loads in 3 minutes, you're ready for another one.
i've been doing other petsite shenanigans between lagtime.... it is getting to be ridiculous though. I realize these things are fickle but oof is it a pain
I'm one of those users who has said in the past "You think this is bad, you should have been here when...." or "I'm used to it" but I'm honestly starting to wonder at what point I just became so dependent on my love for this site that I just decided it was okay that the site is unusable so frequently with little to no information ONSITE about what's going on without having to do some wild hunt for it.
I'm getting old. I'm getting tired. This site is a place I go for comfort and for relaxation. This week for me was absolutely shit IRL and I just wanted to come home and fiddle around here but the lag has been so bad that I'm more annoyed with the site at this point than the shit from IRL.
I know the staff is working on it, I know they're probably just as upset and frustrated and stressed as their user base but I'd really love to see some communication and honesty. I'd also really love to know what the actual plan for this site is beside "fix it" because clearly that roadmap isn't working.
I have never in my life played a game more dysfunctional than this and stuck around to play it; and I will continue to love and support this game as long as my mind can handle it, but holy crap I hope we see some actual permanent performance fixes soon. it's been over a decade of excuses at this point.
Sing it, Mesmer. I've been here 13 years and it's getting really, really old. Subeta is my "turn off my brain time" as well and it's making me a bit grumpy.
I seem to be getting a lot of "sending request to facebook.com . . ." in addition to "waiting for subeta.net . . ." I'm computer dumb but why is Subeta loading facebook? 0_o
Every last bit of this. In the few months I've been back and playing actively I've been screaming stuff like this at the top of my lungs and it seems like no one, especially the staff, is listening. I get users telling me that the staff are trying their best and I should ease up but honestly I'm just sick at this point. And I think the reason the user base is dwindling so bad is because so many of the people who were here 10+ years ago were teens then and are adults now and they have no patience for crap like this.
Don't start an event if the lag isn't fixed. If the site needs to be down for 2-3 days to get all the fixes in just go ahead and do it. Actually take care of the site and users will come back and more users will be inclined to sign up and stay shakes head
honestly ive never even seen lag this bad before, i can barely load the forums (took me 15 minutes to load this thread!) to dance and the wardrobe takes a solid minute if not more to load layer categories when i change them in the drop down. its ridiculous and awful.
the worst ive seen it was like, 1-2 minute or so lag during previous survivals/masqs but wow.
AMEN...been here forever (almost quite literally) and every single event has had endless problems, with the ad nauseum excuse of "please be patient we're doing our best to address the issues".
Continue to spend real money and am now at the point of finally saying, "Meh...why bother?"
P.S. Now looks like some of our avatars are down and out...cue the laugh track.
You can block Facebook, if needed. I am pretty sure Subeta is linked because it has a page there.

The lag gets to me but I can just go off and come back... but still I am sad it’s this bad, I just wanna dance and try on the new wears... I hope staff can fix this.
After all my time of being here (when I'm not on hiatus, anyway) this lag has consistently been bad enough to cause me frustration, especially since staff decided to start the event despite it not being fixed. While there have been a few gaps in between where the site is running really smoothly, it's just... cancelled out by the amount of time the lag's chewed up.
I really hope this can be fixed, or that Masq can be put on hold until it's figured out, because I don't want to stress out over an event/an entire website that's supposed to be fun over something I have no control over. ):
I feel sorry for new players who need many Lounge and Steamworks trinkets to buy stuff they want from all available years. In the past two and a half hours I managed to earn 3 Lounge trinkets and do one Blue Building quest because the lag is horrendous this morning
I've been on Subeta for 14 years. I could cope with lag in the old days because my arthritis wasn't too bad. These days, when I can only manage a few minutes at a time and every mouse click causes discomfort, I'm wondering why I bother at all.

I've stopped investing in Subeta (buying actual CSC with money) for a year now. I feel like I'm putting my money into a blackhole. The site has been going downhill with its performance. I am not saying we are not getting content - we are simply not getting a stable site at all. In 9 years, I hadn't seen actual solid (and horrible) lag when we were less than 500 users logged at the time. It takes 5 to 10 minutes to load certain part of the site. I'm getting 502's and 504's disconnection as well. It's not fun anymore. It's repetitive and boring.
I'm willing to be patient! But patience has its limit.
While us older users put up with it to a certain extent because we know and love subeta, it's still not a good look for a new player. If I joined a site and it was acting like this? I wouldn't come back.
Risky opinion but the lag has been so bad and constant after the downtime (that was supposedly to fix it) that I preferred the lag we had before the downtime... What in the world am I saying? Only on Subeta...
I'd just as soon they called a halt to Masquerade and took us offline for a week if that's what it took to truly dig deeply into the code and run the tests needed to assess where things keep going wrong. I thought the last downtime recently was to fix this and it is, if anything, worse. As everyone else is saying, I don't have the patience to wait and wait and wait for pages to load anymore. Trying to dance through this is just a bad joke.
Some staff chick named Amber claimed hours ago that she was "working on the lag i promise". So... let's not hold our collective breaths, shall we?
I was really hoping that with the site going down for maintenance so close to Masq that lag wouldn't be this bad. I'm traveling right now and pulling up Subeta on my mobile to accept dances (and trying to get 1-2 in when I have a moment here and there to myself) is essentially impossible.
I'm not worried about trinkets since the event is going to last into April, but it's disappointing to not be able to participate now. It's taken me 20min just to be able to post on this thread.
I second people's frustration. The lag is really quite horrible right now. I've been on the site for 12 years now, but this is definitely the worst I've seen in years. I was shocked that they started Masq the other day, given we've been seeing the lag since the downtime. I mean, there's only a few hundred people online, and I can barely wade through my dailies.
So I can add onto the frustration here. I would love an acknowledgement, or to at least know people are working on it. But let's keep rudeness out of it...
